Default Rear Hatch Replacement - Weight Saving

I was browsing around ebay and saw this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

I would think the weight savings would be relatively significant, while allowing you to keep your entire interior. $400 bucks seems like a baller price to me, but I'd be willing to go the route if the picture they had didn't look so awful with the red and the paintjob. My questions were:

1. Has anyone seen this in application? Fitment? Quality? Leaks?
2. What would your guess in eliminating the glass hatch weight wise equal? I would think around 50lbs, but I don't quite remember how much the thing weighs.

I did search, but all I saw was this, and not much else:

I have seen one of these on the car. The fitment is terrible and it takes the shape away from the car. Also it makes it very cramped on the inside and greatly reduces space.

Thanks alot for the quick response! Screw that then. There already isn't a lot of space infront of the hatch, and I was concerned about what it would do to that.

If you want to save some weight I would suggest lexan in the hatch instead of glass. Most of the weight in the hatch is glass weight.

Yeah, I figured that, but I didn't really want to go the lexan route. I DD the thing more than I track it or dick around with SCCA. So basically, I'm just dropping the idea. I would never gut an interior and it seemed like it would be cool if it functioned well, but it didn't look like it would.

There is also the Carbon fiber hatch. That should reduce weight significantly as well and I have seen those for $400.
