Let's you adapt a standard D-series manifold to a DOHC ZC head. Anyone try this? Curious to see results with a Y8/Skunk2 intake manifold on a ZC using this adapter. Thanks.

The Skunk2 manifold i have with my z6 was hitting the firewall til i smashed the firewall in. With the adapter and dohc zc head you would probally have to smash it in a lot on an ef. just my .02 cents

How about a Y8 then maybe with an LS throttle body? Anyone with a DOHC ZC knows we're fucked when it comes to TB options. Anyone else wanna chime in?

try finding one used though.
all i can come up with is new ZC kit - $1995 or used SOHC kit - $700 + $120 for the adapter.
do the math.

Exactly, that's why I'm trying to find people with this adapter. Does anyone think there would be a problem with injector location and atomization?

i was thinking about the same thing.
not sure though. i've never used one of these.
it might be okay, ive seen ITB's with the injector firing right down the throttle body.

Streetwerkz, would I run into a problem using a SOHC kit with this adapter? Would I need a longer/custom belt? Any other problems I would encounter?

we came up with the adapter specifically to use the JRSC on the DOHC ZC and have done so without any problems - the JRSC is no longer available for the DOHC ZC - we bought the last one over a year ago (yeah, i know you can go the the website and it has it listed, but just try to buy one) - i do know that a Y8 manifold will fit using the adapter, but don't know about Skunk2 since we haven't tried it, but i don't think there is enough room without modifying the firewall - unless you have a lot of mods on the DOHC ZC, putting any kind of other than stock intake manifold (D16Y8, Skunk2, etc.) on it is probably going to hurt your performance

Why do you say that -- is the DOHC ZC intake mani that good? I'm mostly considering the Y8/ LS TB combo for top end. My ZC needs more top end power and throttle body swaps are kind of limited as are intake mani's ...

based on our experience over the last 7 years of working on and modifying the ZCs - have done around 40 ZC swaps

is your engine stock? if so, bigger throttle body and Y8 intake will slow it down

JRSC for the DOHC ZC is not available, but is still available for the SOHC D-series

i posted for a SOHC motor can the JRSC still be able to get new if you cant get the JRSC new then this adapter plate works to convert the DOHC manifold to use the SOHC manifold Just wondering what would the benefits be for the DOHC I have an extra ROVER motor and wanted some type of input I sure u know what this adapter does it should allow you to use SOHC race parts on a DOHC motor right ???MOE@HYPER16VALVE...

maybe a longer belt. that isnt a problem at all though.

I don't post much on HT but am around other places. I have seen this adapter plate and it is a really nice piece. I have in fact, ran a similar plate to mount a SOHC JRSC to a DOHC ZC and it worked out perfectly.
+1 to the folks at ZCSpeed - great guys.

the studs for the manifold screw into the adapter plate and the adapter plate bolts to the head with allen head bolts that end up behind the manifold - it comes with all of the bolts and studs

i sent you the link for the hondata gasket and extended manifold studs earlier today.
i personally would buy them because i have used hondata gaskets with good results on the JRSC setups. but the factory studs are really short for the thick gasket.
