Default Vtec not firing!!!

Changed my o2 sensor and put some oil in it. But still no vtec. Its not wanting to engage. What should i be looking for. I have a oil leak but dont know if that would cause it not to fire.

well, if you have an oil leak, could be that you're not building enough oil pressure. If the ECU can't get the pressure that it wants, it won't let VTEC engage.

I would imagine though, that you'd have a CEL if that were the case.

I see in another thread that you put a gsr swap into your SE... did you change the ecu and do wiring for vtec?

B18c has dual runners - on stock VTEC point should be 4.4 - 4.6k rpm for the first and 6k rpm for the second. This should still be audible if its stock (mine was, at least).

If you have swapped engine in, ensure that ecu (p28) and wiring is connected and functioning correctly. Hate to join the bandwagon, but have you got the right ecu ..?

What mods do u have done to the car. I could not hear vtec on my 99 gsr until I/H/E. And the actual stock vtec crossover is around 4400 rpm and the secondaries are around 5800-6100.

if you can rev it all the way to redline and there's no noticeable loss in power, it's working.

What engine? What Car? Did v-tec ever work? If it did work before...what was the last thing changed on the car. That could be your problem.
