I need to know what hid bulbsize i could get for my 94 civic? Please let me know i hear to many things on the search i found it from h4h, h4, and then some site say 9003. Please let me know whats up so i can get the right hid kit for my hatch.

H4. You will lose your brights if you buy a single beam HID. You have to buy dual beam or HIDs with a shutter (prius style) if you want brights as well.

Also: 4300k is the brightest. This is what you see on OEM cars. Anything up or down from there will be less bright...and IMO looks rice, lol. just my $.02

 

ya you need H4s unless u have some aftermarket projectors on your cars then i think its 9006..... but if its the stock headlights u have then H4 would be your friend... also don't 4get to pull out the daytime fuse after u put the HIDs on.. they blow on u alot faster due to it being on all the time.

 

i believe h4 and 9003 are the same bulbs....h4h can usually be found in jdm headlights...

daytime lights are what those canadians have, don't worry about it in the US...

h4 and 9003 are the same thing, h4h is different, for stock civic headlights you'll need h4/9003

 

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i though h4/9003 were conventional halogen bulbs. aren't hid light bulbs different.

Yes, HID bulbs are different (D1R/D1S, D2R/D2S, D3R/D3S) .... but he's talking about shitty PnP rebased "HID" kits.

You're correct. However, "plug-and-play" HID kits are normally labeled according to the halogen bulb size that they're designed to replace.

Either way, sticking an HID kit into the stock EG halogen housings is a poor idea.

dang is it really that poor of an idea to put hids in the stock housing? I just wanted to get better distance with my lights.

Yes, the results will be quite sub-par.

My suggestions would be to invest in a pair of Philips X-treme Power H4 bulbs, and if you need long-range lighting, pick up a set of quality auxiliary driving lamps.

If you want the benefits of HID as a bolt-on setup, check out the TYC projector HID units, or a set of HID auxiliary lamps.

and the visibility at night is worse compared to OEM style would you say?
