Intake block off plate
I've been searching for about 30 min. and can't seem to find anything. I would like to make a block off plate for my intake. It would go where the purple line is in the picture below. Any information/pictures on this would be helpful!
But why you want it there? block off plate is suppose to block hot air from the engine???? If want to make one, homedepot is your friend. Or you can just cardboard :D (for temp)

What you are describing would not work with your current intake. Your would have to have a 90-degree bend and then a metal wall with a hole in it. Also, unless you cut a hole in the sheet metal below, you'll have no air flowing up, so you'll still be subject to the same stagnant air.

What you are describing would not work with your current intake. Your would have to have a 90-degree bend and then a metal wall with a hole in it. Also, unless you cut a hole in the sheet metal below, you'll have no air flowing up, so you'll still be subject to the same stagnant air.

I thought you were trying to make like a heatshield for your intake to keep the heat from your engine from going towards your intake.

Looks hand-made. Like I said, some 1/8" aluminum or steel sheet, some brackets, and some rubber trimming. Oh yeah, JDM stickers.

Awesome! Thanks for the good info guys! I'm going to do this project this weekend. I think I'm going to use aluminum instead of steal. I have all the necessary tools to do so, and it would probably look nicer.

If you're straight baller .... you could use titanium. Then you get those cool burn colors on the edges.

I've had no experiesnce with titanium. Is working with it simular to aluminum? Can I still use the same tools?

No idea, lol. I suck at metalfab. I am so bad at welding, it's laughable.

mine is madeup from 1mm' thick aluminum sheet with shine polished finished. Inside the air box, I covered it with heatshield material to repell the hot air from the header off the intake. Moreover, underneat the box, there is an air duct comming in from the front bumper to ensure the flow of the cold air. 
But it also eaten up a lot of dust though, that's why I need to clean up my K&N filter almost every month

I'm bad at it because I don't have the ability to practice with different metals. I don't often need to weld, so I don't have the tools myself. I also recently had a falling out with my mechanic-friend, so I can no longer use his tools or shop.
