Default Horrible whining noise coming from engine

this has been and on off problem until it became an all the time problem recently.

When sometimes starting my car, or accelerating in first gear, a sudden loud, almost high pitch noise comes from my engine like "eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr" and iut doesnt sotp unless i restart my car or hit one hell of a hard bump (or slam my hood)

The engine is a d16z6. The noise seems to be coming from around the tranny or the fan on my radiator. The car runs fine while drving while this noise is pestering me and doesnt gho away easily.

if more info is needed i can supply

if it's coming from the fan area, i'd suspect a bad bearing in the fan. although it initially makes me think of a belt. have you checked any belts for abnormal wear?

not to be be stupid, but there are no belts on the right side of the engine by the tranny. and if there are for some unkinown reason to me, i didnt see them . But besides my stupid remark, i cant figure out where its coming from (the exact cause of it). i suspect my fan, so next time it does it i think i mess with the fan, hell ill even take it out while running just to see if thats it. Or just get another fan and try it out. If the new fan doesnt solve it, ill return the fan. no money lsot there.

Any suggestions that it could be something else? are there any sensors or anything in that area that make blaring noises if something wrong?

it si prolly your fan....i had the same thing right after i did one of my swaps, the fan was rubbing the radiator while i accelerated but only in first gear for me. i realized i had mounted it a little crooked/wrong so i took it out and remounted it and problem solved.

Check your distributor, same thing happened to me and it was failing. Got a check light after a while, then the car went into limp mode, then died. I waited too long, now its swapped and its all good, i just need to do my timing.
