Default Sunroof help on CRX SI

I dunno if sunroofs are a good thing or a bad thing, I guess they are good if they work right and don't leak, but anyway. Since I bought my crx the sunroof has been messed up. Where the sunroof panel actually bolts into the rail the screws are different size and dunno if the threads are stripped. The motor works, and if I push up on the sunroof while opening it, it will open. But if I just try to use it, it doesn't work. My other problem is, the metal rails that hold the sunroof up, or prop it up so it doesn't scrap against the roof arn't working, they don't come up at all, and if I don't hold the sunroof up while opening it, it will scrap against the roof of the car. Is there anything I can do besides replacing everything? I might take it to a dealer and have them look at it, but I don't wanna get raped in the *** on price. Any suggestions, I know pics might help, but I figure someone else might have had this problem before. Also the passenger side window is way off track, is that an easy fix? Thanks for any info and the help, this website is great.

WD-40? thats what I did to mine when I had that problem. It worked for a while but I had to do it often.

i have the same problem i would take your roof interior out and watch how all of it works. It sounds like you need a lube job and really watch how the whole thing interacts with itself. screw a dealer!!!!!!!! do it yourself thats why you own an old car to do everything yourself. Im taking mine apart this weekend! i'll take pictures!
Also wd-40 just displaces moisture and lubes a tiny bit. I would use a good middle weight grease on all the moving parts. Dont use a heavy grease or you'll kill the motor!

Greese will not do a damn thing.
I've been through these sunroof nightmares. After buying 2 sunroof tray assemblies on ebay and both not working as well (same problem where one side closes and the other stays poped up).
I finally bit the bullet and just went to Honda and bought a brand new tray and all moving parts basically (wasnt cheap!). Got the old tray and the new empty one side by side and used the old one for reference to where and how everything goes together (plus a few schematics).
What I have noticed, is that there is a plastic arm (attatched to a housing where the cable runs through) and attached to that plastic arm is basically another metal arm that moves that "pin" mentioned above, on my original sunroof and the 2 others i bought off ebay, all had this part broken. You can not open this "housing" and just replace the plastic part- you need a new cable assembly is what i think its called. Kinda hard to explain because there are ALOT of little parts that at first glance your basically like WTF...but after rebuilding the sunroof it all makes sence...
I found a pic of the plastic part i was talking about that is usually broken...(highlighted in green)
