Default Projector or OEM JDM lights?

SUP SUP! I'm planning to replace my headlight assembly soon. I have a 96 Accord Coupe and I'm looking at the 1 piece projector from eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 something like that. Looks clean. No gap at all.

Or should I just get those JDM ones? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 Those look awesome too.

So tell me which do you prefer? I'm not going to put and real HID kits. And DO not worry about the price.

Dont tell me to refinish it. I need an excuse to get one. LOL!

Which kind you get ultimatlt is compleatly upto you, but heres my 2¢

The ebay projectors are hit and miss quality wise, so be warned, BUT i do like the way those look on the webpage. Have you happen to see them on your car before? some cars look cooler than others with aftermarket projectors (example: i love the way my car looks with after market projectors, yet hate the way my friens subaru WRX looks wtith them...)

But those blacked out JDM ones look really nice too.

Ultimatly i would base my decsion on this: Do you plan to get HID's? if yes, than go with projectors (Just my Opinion, due to less glare for oncomming drivers) if no plans to go the HID route, than go with the blacked out JDM ones

Thanks for your input skingfreak. I know someone in this forum that have those headlight but I forgot who. Those JDM are nice, but so much $$$. But for purposes no spending limit for head lights.

Anyone else?

Personally, I'd go with the black projector headlights. I have a pair of JDM chrome projector headlights with the angel eyes, they look very similar to the black projector headlights you have chosen. But, it's really up to you on what you want. Just pick what would look the best on your car.

I really like the 1pc projector so far. Looks like the 6th gen accord lights and dirts and other gunk cant get in between the gaps. Hmmm.....

BTW how do you hook up those anyways mustbeballin?

Yeah, the one piece headlights are a hit right now. Well, atleast they are up here. I think the one piece looks so much better than having the headlight and the directional/parking light seperate.

I havent hooked mine up yet. I was thinking, I'm just going to wait till spring, once the cold weather is over with and all the salt and dirt is cleaned up a little. But, from what I understand, they just hook up like a regular headlight and directional/parking light does. It just all goes in in one piece. The only difference is hooking up the angel eyes. What I'm going to do with the angel eyes is soder (sp?) them to the wire that goes to my directional/parking lights. That way there, when I turn my parking lights on the angel eyes light up and when i use my directionals, the angel eyes blink. If you didn;t want to do it that way, you can always wire a seperate wire to a switch in your car, like I'm going to do with my fog lights once I get them.

Im sure the quality would be fine, especialyl if you add a bead of silicone all around to ensure the seal prior to installing

water leakage would be my only concern and the silicon cawking should prevent anything like that. re-thinking, i would now go with the projectors

just because JDM is in the title doesnt mean they're JDM....the JDM style lights you found are DEPO, and from what i've read its either DEPO or TYC or Stanley if you want quality lighting. stanley is oem, and the other two are OEM replacements iirc. the projector lights look cool, but i wouldnt hold my breath on quality. also, one piece lights, from what i've seen, dont fit like oem. but if thats cool with you, go with them.

and im pretty sure there wasnt a set of JDM chrome projectors with angel eyes offered on the 5th gen accords....but then again, what do i know.

EDIT: now that i look at it, i dont even think the JDM style ones are even DEPO lights, i think just the corners are.

The second set is DEPO, they're decent I believe they retain the 9006/9005 bulbs rather than authentic SiR which uses h4/h1 bulbs.

go with whatever you want,

well, go with which ever option you prefer. but if you must go with the JDM black housing, you might as well do a DIY. but then again, the projectors are great for HIDs.

OOO so many good opinions. I could the DIY JDM black housing as Evenstar suggested. JDM mod is easy to do, but I hate that gunk that gets in between the crevices between the headlights and the corner lights...

I think I'm going to do the 1pc... HMMMMMM!!!!! Aite thanks guys for the input!!! Appreciate all the inputs and suggestions. =P

Any other comments would be gladly enjoyed. =P

EDIT* Also how do you wire up the angel eyes?? Thanks!

For a cd5/7? Good luck trying to do the lights without taking off the bumper.

Takes me about 5 minutes by myself to take the bumper off, and another 5 for the headlights.

There's 2 bolts incredibly difficult to get to if you don't remove the bumper.

4 screws ( two in each fender well)
4 bolts (hold the actual metal bumper - visible when turn signals are removed)
2 plastic clips on the bottom

Hey how you guys hook up the angel light?

BTW are you using the 9006? or the 9005? 9006 has that cap at the top of the bulb. could you guys try it with your high beam bulb? I wanna see if it makes a difference...

i believe the 9006 is the low and the 9005 is the high. i dont think they're interchangable though. as far as angel eyes, if you're good at wiring, or keen on it, wire them up with your driving lights, the first click on the light switch. either that or wire in a switch. just hook them up to a 12v source thats hot all the time and put a relay in there and a switch so you can turn them on all the time.

When I put in my JDM headlights in my 1994 coupe, I didnt have to remove the front bumper. It was odd, I even ended up with a few extra pieces but it was fairly easy.
