Intercooler size for crx.
T3/T4, not yet though. I'm going to start a build thread soon. This thread isn't really about efficiency though, it's more like a thread about intercooler fitment in crx's and EF's in general.

That intercooler ^
Is this one:

In front of one of my EG's for reference:

I gave it to him cause I thought there was no way in hell that I could ever fit it in a little civic. He got it to fit WITH a bumper. Buuut... I think that's the absolute largest you could possibly put on there.
Get the intercooler from an eagle talon... About the size of a heater core. hahah.... No, don't do that. I don't have a turbo but I see them all around with a decent sized intercooler in stock bumpers. Just some front end cutting required.

I use them all the time, got a few 27x9x2.5s I'm about to put on EF's as well.

Old Intercooler design:

Construction of new intercooler:

Comparison of the two IC's. The new core is 27" x 6" x 3" as apposed to the 17" x 9" x 2.5" You should also take note that the path of the charged air now travels top to bottom with a shorter fin path which is designed for lower pressure drops and higher cooling efficiency.

New bumper support design in middle stages. There will be 4 mounting points (2 @ original support mounting points, and 2 @ a newly made lower point). The IC will get two more brackets made to attach to the lower bar as well. The actual bumper will mount to the bracket that is bolted between the headlamp supports and will also have additional mounting points to keep it securely in place. IC ends have NPT bungs welded in for air temperature monitoring at both inlet and outlet.

Mocking up charge pipe to IC inlet. 2.25" Aluminum piping:

I've seen it done. I don't remember where now, with a bit of looking I'm sure it could be found. The small little Eclipse IC was used near one of the fake-ducts (that was cut) in the bumper on a Rex though. I believe the setup was for auto-x and extremely low boost though.

It would be harder to run the piping and it wouldn't cool as well as a frount mount.

I have a few questions:
28"x5x3" (overall) could it fit in the crx bumper 90-91 with no trimming at all air ducts etc?
I may even go down to a 2.5" thick if space is tight...turbos 18g just boostin 7 psi

You will have to trim the backside of the bumper, but can retain the grills. It will still fit perfectly fine.

hells yeah I love it

guessing 27x5.5x2.5 from the looks...if not it's very close to it.
