Drag car which is better coupe or hatchback
hello i have read thru this site for many years my question is
i have a current built motor setup running about
600whp
i have 2 chassis i can place the setup into
93 civic coupe dx
or
96 civic hatch dx
both would be gutted and preped for the track
which would be a better choice ?
any pros or cons ?

Is this car going to have wheelie bars or not?
Are they the same wheelbase?
The reason I mention wheelie bars is, a coupe vs a hatch, the rule for a wheelie bar is 65 inches from the rear bumper to the centerline of the wheelie wheel. So the difference between a coupe and a hatch is, the coupe bumper is farther back than a hatch. So if you chose a coupe your overall wheelbase with wheeliebar included will be longer than you can achieve with a hatch.
If you are not running a wheelie bar.........I just waisted alot of space on HT
So then your choice would come down to OEM wheelbase maybe? Or just difference in weight of the vehicles, other than that I would have to slap them on corner scales to make a better decision. One may have a better weight bias from the factory.
Just my thought process........goodluck in whatever you choose.

So basically it's a matter of preference because you can make them all fast
