Can i put a D16Z6 head on my 89 civic std????

Yes the d16z6 head will bolt right on.
Best thing to do is convert to obd1 and use a p28 though,and also don't forget to take out the oil jet in the nonvtec block otherwise there will be no vtec.
another option is to stay with your current obd and run a chipped pm6 or other compatible ecu and have it setup for 1 wire vtec.
But whatever you do don't run the stock obd0 ecu and a switch to engage vtec,cause it would be pointless.
By the way this is called a mini-me do a search on google.
