Default Do i really need this????

It is a "port service" thing and is labeled NUMBER 2 on the picture.....I broke mine and it seems like just a plastic thing and no filters whatsoever.....could i just replace it with just a normal tube to connect both hoses? or do i really need to get one? BTW im running stock ECU PRC.....thanks!

EDIT: if your swapping it on an EK where do you plug the other end? coz i know the one on top goes to the brake booster.......

It's a service port for you Fuel EVAP system. It runs any gas that gets vaporized in the fuel rail to the EVAP canister in the back of the car to cut down on HC emmisions and to help prevent vapor in the lines. You don't "need" it but it's the only way to access the system easily. And if you live in a state that has inspections, depending on what they test you might need it. Don't cut a corner, just do it right and replace it with the right part.

Nah, I doubt you "need" half the things in that picture. But you should have all of them.

No, all it is is a service port to prime the system and inspect it. The only thing you need it for is after an EVAP system repair to prime the circuit. No CEL and it won't hurt you driveability but if you ever need to repair the EVAP it is going to be a bitch to finish it right with out it. BUT YOU BETTER MAKE SURE THE THING DOESN'T LEAK!! That line is FUEL VAPOR!
