Type R Daily drivers.......question
For everyone who daily drives their R's rather it be to school, work or what ever. How do you guys deal with the paranoia that people out there are trying to steal our R's?? For me I park in an underground lot and need a keycard to get in and out of the lot so i dont worry TOO much, although its my daily driver. I also have a decent security system. But for everyone else who has to park in an open lot......how do you guys deal with that fear of the R being gone??

I don't drive my r or my civic anywhere that it may have to be unattended period. I have a beater for that.
I've been driving mine for 5yrs everyday, everywhere, and I don't even have a garage. I've never had a fear of it getting stolen. Its just a car and I have insurance.
i dont think an underground lot with a swipe card should give u reason to feel safe. Those types of secluded lots are usually more prone and those swipe cards can be abtained with a little bit of money. ur best bet is to buy a **** box to drive to places like this
^^Had a DD ready along with a garage. Its a weekend and track only car. I dont take the car usually to meets nor do I do anything to draw attention to it (posting pics where location is clear).

I used to not even think about it til one day my car was stolen in broad daylight in front of security cams. Luckily i got it back mostly in 1 piece 4 dayz later...Now I'm a lil paranoid and x-tra careful where I park. But you can't worry yourself too much...If someone wantz it bad enough, they will find a way to take it no matter where you park.

ROFL..those stickers are good for 50+ HP tho
Maybe invest in something like this
http://www.viper.com/Products/...D=101
You'll get a phone call if your alarm is activated and then it can also track your car after it's been stolen

Same here haha
Since I have owned the car I have gotten less than 5 "Nice R" and about 50 "Is that a real type R". Other than that they think its stickers, or just another car. I like it that way.

Damn near my exact situation. Had mine for 3 years, have driven it 50000 miles, park it outside my apartment (all i have to do is look up from my bed and out the window to see heR), have security layers, and have full coverage. It really doesnt matter how much you try, if someone wants ure car, they are bound to get it somehow. Ive had a few scares before in the middle of the night but so far, so good. *KNOCKS REALLY FREAKIN HARD ON WOOD*
Oh, and i have The Club.

I love it when they ask if it's real...i just tell them it's a LS...Then they see the "I ::heart:: my Honda" sticker and start tellin me that it's not a honda...and that Honda has nothing to do with Acura...But yea, back to Topic,my car has a viper with a proximity sensor(beeps when you walk up to it) and i want to upgrade to a pager or something of the sort...
I have a fuel pump kill switch in a really sneaky spot, good alarm, dont park it in too rough an area, id rather walk a couple blocks, and im hoping for a quickrelease hub momo wheel combo soon. and its insured so theres always another one for sale somewhere.

exactly how i feel didn't even worry about my car getting stolen until my 99Si was stolen out of the front parking lot of my school at noon.... that's how the fear was given to me.

I have a DD but my stock CRX is sometimes as much of a target. Nehoo, I do end up driving the R at least 3 times a week to work/school and such. Your friend is a good insurance company and layered security. A pro can pretty much get around anything but you gotta make it a pain for them. Also, park in good areas and make sure your schedule is not too routine.
