Default hesistation rough idle

i have a 1988 crx with a d15 in it that i picked up for 200 bucks

it has been sitting for a while and im trying to get it running decent

i have drained all the old gas out and changed the oil 2 times along with tranny fluid

i have also changed out plugs

my problem is that it has a rough idle and hesitates very badly

any time i try to get it gas more then 1/6 throttle it dosent want to do anything and seams like it wants to stall

only thing i can think of is that it dosent have any back preasure

can this cause this problem?

it is currently open header

any input would be awsome

thanks

Try changing the fuel filter, spark plug wires and distributor rotor, make sure timing is on and run some seafoam through it. Then you can complete the tuneup and go from there.

Edit: just saw you're running open header . Not having an O2 sensor will make your idle all screwed up. You may want to remedy that.

check the screw that hold the rotor in place it might have came loose or fell off and your rotor is just arcing all over inside

Ahhh, my fault I was thinking you were saying no header instead of open header.

I still say you give her a nice tuneup and see where you stand after that.

the little butterfly valve before the throttle body seams like it doent open very much when you give it gas

could that be a problem

the car idels fine but sometimes like 50% it does this hesistation problem

it also pops when u try to give it gas and it dosnt rev and u let off of the gas it pops

also i have had it where you cant rev past 3k and 4k and 5k
