Default !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BEST HEADER AND EXHAUST COMBOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What header and exhaust combo gives you the best performance and sound? I had a DC ceramic race header and Greddy Evo2 combo on my Spec-V and it was amazing, but it doesn't count since it's a DC5 forum question.

Good to know. On DC5's is there a header that goes straight from the engine and connects directly to the cat-back? (On my Spec-V that was the case when I bought a DC header. I didn't have to buy a test pipe.)

but everyone does it
you get great gains from it but you will need to upgrade your mounts eventually because the twisting of the motor during shifts will cause most (if not all) headers to break
happy searching

The HEADER could break after a while if you don't have motor mounts? I've never heard that. I bet SPOON sounds good, but it probably costs a fortune. I'm probably gonna go with the STURP or DC ceramic.

no! big mistake. do not go with a ceramic race header. those will crack. also, its not the header that will break but the mounts. you can either upgrade to new aftermarket mounts or just got ESMM inserts. a torque dampener will do the same, but the ESMM's cost a lot less and do a good job. and to my knowledge spoon does not make a race header. if you get the DC, get the stainless steel one

yeah that
i would stay away from ceramic
pay the few extra dollars for the brushed or polished

without upgraded mounts, you can crack your header (common problem) but you can also crack your stock motor mounts

although, you can even break your stock mounts without a raceheader, i've seen that in person

WOW, never knew that about RSX's since I converted from Nissan. I had my DC ceramic race header and had no problems. Isn't ceramic supposed to be better for heat distribution? I've seen the shock looking dampner. Is the torque dampner easy to install? Is it a bolt on?

reguardless of what you heard
in the rsx
stainless > ceramic rh in ever way except price and the abilitly of easy repair

i personally don't have one, but from what i've read
its easy to install if you have one special tool (really long socket)
and yes, its a bolt-on

check on http://www.clubrsx.com i think there is a sound gallery or somthing that combines alot of different exhausts and headers

yeah dude no problem good luck with your purchases, the race header is the way to go, just make sure you have something to tune it with, suposedly it runs rich installed before any tunning but with a reflash it suposedly makes it run lean ..who knows im buying k-pro tomarrow lol good luck man

and expletive retards that bash on peoples threads

you should go with ESMM inserts instead of the dampener. it'll only cost you about $20-$30, instead of paying over $100. the dampener may be easier to install, but they do the same thing. people who had both on and removed the dampener said they didn't feel a difference when it was removed

i agree
in my opinion the esmm > tq damper
although esmm + tq damper would be the best

dc5tegk20 GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO MAN. IT'LL BE A NICE SETUP.I don't know. I really like the engine dampner. I'll get it later though since I'm buying my exhaust and intake now. I JUST CAN'T DRIVE A STOCK CAR.

honestly
save the exhaust for last, unless you need the sound and looks
go with intake/raceheader
you'll be happy with that for awhile

What type/brand of header do you have and how was the install? I gotta change the exhaust. I hate the stock look.
