'98 Accord Cold Engine Reverse noise
Hi,
Long time reader first time writer... I have a '98 Accord EX 4cyl with 120k miles AUTO. When I put it to reverse, after 2-3 minutes of warming up, while engine is still in "higher" RPM mode, I hear a loud noise and I feel the car shakes a bit.
Do you guys think it is engine mounts?
Thanks!

Bump to this question, i have a 00' accord ex (coupe) v6 and when the engine is cold, the first shift into reverse shakes the car. (sorry to ***** your thread)
Just to follow up... the car is at the mechanic's and he's saying that engine mounts are OK. He's not seeing anything wrong. I am asking him to wait until the car cools off so he can hear the noise.
He did not find anything wrong with the mounts or transmission. Replaced pads/rotors and wheels though
I did a search on the web and that thum noise / shakes seem to be an often occurrence. Unfortunately, I did not see any fixes for that... except for $2500 trans replacement.
Honda recalled 00-02 accords but not 98s
.
Giving the car to my inlaws so we'll see how long it lasts.
