Default Polishing the Valve Cover

Hey, i just stripped all the black off my valve cover and i am wondering what grit sand paper i would use 2 polish it. I am wanting that shinney look. People tell me i gotta sand it and then polish it, just curious on what grit sand paper 2 use and how exactly yall (who have polished valve covers) make yalls so shinney?? TIA..

prolly start at like 800 grit up to like 1200 and then polish it up reall nice should look pretty sweet.
i did my wheels on my bike like that .

im not wanting a new valve cover, cuz all i have 2 do now is sand and polish, i just need 2 know what exactly u used 2 get your valve cover 2 that shinney look????
