Default Heavy Duty clutch needed for DE events???

Hey guys. I'm kicking the idea around of changing my flywheel and clutch on my 96 RS. The car is low on the hp side @ 125-130 WHP if I'm lucky. I figure a lighter flywheel will help alot... like it did on our CSP CRX. And if I'm going to change the flywheel I might as well change the clutch while I'm in there. The car will be run with street tires for another year and I'm asking the wife for NT01's or RA1's for Christmas 07.

I guess my choices are:
OEM type?
EXEDY, CM or others "Stage 1"?
Or others?

I just don't want to get the OEM replacement if its good enough for now and need a stronger on when I change tires or add a diff to the car (meaning within the next year)

Thanx for any insite!

unless your planning on putting boost on the car, an oe replacement or other full face clutch will work just fine.

no prob. im using a stage 1 exedy on my b-series EF and its been problem free. i recommend exedy on the ef chassis because the pressure plate isn't super stiff. i had an act in my single cam and the pedal pressure was excessife and i broke clutch cables and pedal assemblies.

I installed an OEM Type R clutch in my RS tranny with a light flywheel and it's worked great. My race car has about 200 crank hp.

Did you use the Type R pressure plate, or the RS? I was looking on line and can find part #'s for the TypeR and GSR clutch and pressure plates, but not the LS/RS. Does anyone have any ideas???

three years on my used, stock, junkyard oem clutch assy. it still feels perfect.

its in my H1 K20 racecar.

for road racing, you don't need more than the stock oem clutch, unless you are abusive.
