AccuTracking software turns your Motorola iDEN cell phones into a GPS tracking device. The AccuTracking online GPS cell phone tracking service lets you see real-time locations, speed, and headings of your children/family members or cars/vehicles, and receive email or SMS alerts when they move across the designated areas or exceeds speed limit.
So you purchase the starter kit for $89.00 (phone, car charger, etc). Purchase a data through nextel at a flat rate of $10.00 a month. Monthly fee of $5.00 for using the AccuTracking software. Hardwire it into your car and you have GPS tracking capabilities at roughly $15.00 a month.
I am thinking about doing it. Has anyone ever tried the system out or know anyone that has?

Cheap and working all the time does not seem to work toghter very well. You have to pray the the phone has signal all the times and your in covarage all the time. It would be good as a layer but I would not put all my eggs in that basket like a full fledge gps tracking system.
