Well Its finally out. And I can say its a great unit for the money. I had the chance to play with it. I like it. Easy to use and navigate thru functions. I like the option of being able to play ipod video. The picture quality is also of top notch. The only downfall is that pioneer does not include a cage for it. Its extra. I think if your going to buy a radio and spend this much a 5 dollar cage should be included. Even thou they charge more then 5 buxs. Pioneer is trying to hype this up to much. There only releasing so many. I think its stupied. I was only able to get 10 of these and they went like hot cakes. Pioneer is trying to keep these off of egay by keeping track of the serial numbers and not repairing any units from them. You must have a receipt from a dealer and that dealer will have to provide his rep or dealer number. Any dealers caught selling them to any other company that sells on ebay looses there right to sell pioneer products for 5 years. I doubt this would work because there allready on there. But besides that if your looking for a nice unit with navi and have a 1k to spend go for it. I have 5 on back order if anyone needs on feel free to hit me up.

Damn nice looking Navi Des (looking more and more OEM these days FTW) ..Didn't pioneer put in a sensor in one to where if it picks up motion you can't use it?

Does it got bluetooth built into it?

A built in hard drive that will let you copy mp3s and wavs?

Ability to split screens so you can have navigation and a movie open at the same time?

I haven't got that far with the unit. I only benched tested it. I yanked my z1 out and was to swap this one for it, but you know how release dates go and it got pushed back. So instead of putting the z1 back in. I sold it and thru my back up kenwood flip out.
Coming from a z1 to this unit is a lil down grade. This unit does have the option of bluetooth but you have to add it to it unlike the z1 that had it built in. Also the z1 had the built in hard drive. The d3 does not have it. Yea you can't switch screens and use navi and watch a movie. I haven't had a chance to find out how to make it work while driving. But I will have that figured out real soon Its suppose to be a easy trick to do it. Pioneer was suppose to change it because everybody started to return there n2 when people figured out that unit was like that. Then there was that lil mod to the brain. I have a meeting with all the dealers this week at pioneer to be breifed more on the unit. I'll find out there. I don't think I'll miss my z1 that much. I nevered really used the hd that much. Plus I allways in glamis and I rather have my navigator broken into and this one gone then a z1. I doubt anybody out there would stoop this low. But when your riding and are hours away from camp it does cross your mind.

Yea they were doing that special but you had to buy some other 3 other pioneer products. Anyway if you get the ipod cable let us know how it is compared to the unit for the Z1 also how you like it compared to the Z1. Im loving my Z1 except for the ipod controls. Hopefully they will offer some upgrade to the Z1 ipod control this year.

Does the Navigation work without DVD? As in, can I have a CD in there so I can listen to music and still use the navigation? I know some navi's will store a route and then you have to switch back and forth through the Navi DVD and your media CD/DVD, wondering if I can change routes and everything while listening to music still.

no you can't only some features work. If you have a changer you can get away with it.
