Some bad news... Help!
Well as you all know the taxes are coming back for us all. For most people this means new parts for your cars but not for me. I am in need of a new guitar amp and so that is where my 800 dollars is going. I am really looking forward to this amp and I REALLY need it but I know that for that money I could have probably had my SOHC DC and such. So hopefully this summer the motor swap will have to happen. I get more free time in the summer anyway.
The only problem is that I am always running away from that fact that if I do a motor swap I will need to do an automatic to manual swap. Everyone on HT always says not to get discouraged by my automotive knowledge consists of 2 years of auto shop in high school and just whatever I have learned working at NAPA and working on cars with friends. I can do most repairs to a car with some time and trial and error but when swapping a motor and tranny that is not something I am looking forward to. I still have to decide what to do. But keep in mind that if I do swap all this stuff into my current EXTREMELY clean civic it would be amazing. I don't think I will be able to find another already manual civic for such a low price as my civic right now. I look on autotrader all the time and they are just not out there... Sucks don't it.
There is the vent for now...

if your staying sohc and just making it a 5 speed then its pretty dang easy, your experience is more then enough being as the only experience ive had was limited to oil changes and stereo instalations, and im just about done droping a 5 speed gsr into an 89 crx auto. hardest part is tackling the pedals but theres a great write up on it here if you just search. hope that give you the motivation you need ;-)
Everyone tells me that... Part of the reason I am so concerned is that i want to have the least amount of down time as possible. I don't have a second car so yeah... How long did it take to do the swap?
