I got a 91 CRX HF
I did a favor for my bro (drove him hella far to get his motor plus taking work off) so he gave me his d16z6 block, and rebuilt z6 head for free. I was going to just get another d16z6 and swap it in right away while i build it, but Im going to save money and just keep my HF motor in and build the free z6 motor I got.
something was wrong with the block, there was knockin or something, we think it was one of the rods. how could I find out if the block is still useable? or what was wrong with it? I was planing to take out the rods and the pistons and put in tuner toy rods and vitara pistons and getting the block honed and probably posted. Would that fix the block?
By the way how much PSI's can the vitara pistons handle?
Besides the piston and rods what other internals would be good to get? and from experience what aftermarket internals in the head are good for turbo?
My goal is to make around 300whp with a t3/t4.

first of all.... you should use a t3 or a t3/to4e..... t3/t4 is kinda big for 1.6l
what condition is the block in (can you see any physical defects, etc)?
you dont need to post your block or fill it( waste of time imo) you do however need to notch it to clear the bigger rods. check out d-series.org..... lots of great engine building info.
tuner toys rods w? vitaras pistons have been proven to 400hp so 300 should be easy w/ a good tune. im not too sure about head mods.... maybe a zex cam?
