ok this guy wants to race my 95 civic ex for $100, i want to know if i can win, my car just has an aem v2 intake and its a 5spd d16z6 sohc vtec, with stock tires, the other guys is running a 91 crx si with a sohc ZC swap, he has an intake and hes running not exhaust just straight headers but hes on 17" rims. The rex isnt gutted or anything so whats the deal? we raced 1st gear to 2end, and by the end of second i was beating him by a car, we stoped and he said he wasnt gunning it.....but i think hes lieing, tell me the truth, should i race for $100?

 

if u starting from a dig yes race him. just learn to hit 4k rpm and then double clutch up to 3rd gear and ull pull off. i raced my friend crx with that same motor on a stock z6 and pulled bus lengths on him

 

If he really wants to race you for cash, he might have something up his sleeve. Sounds like it should be close, good luck. BTW... learn to hit 7200rpm and power shift if you want to go fast.

double clutching is for 3 types of people

1. ricers
2. people that have cars with no syncros
3. people who are Vin Diesel in The Fast and The Furious

 

i wouldn't race him for 100.. dood thats atleast half of your paycheck !!!.. now you have your dream car why don't you go back to highschool, grab that g.e.d and learn how to ******* spell "dollers"

I used to double clutch when I hauled hay(10k lbs) between our farms in Tennessee when we had to go up/down hills. The truck probably would have died and I would have snatched the ball off the hitch right off. Does that make me a ricer?

that depends. were you hauling 10k lbs of rice between farms?

 

zc crx is faster it lighter and motor probably has less miles and faster then your 125 hp ex
