They're not very good at all. First, they're an all-season tire, and even among all-season tires, they're not very good.

All-season tires are "compromise" tires. They aren't as good in winter as just about any winter tire, and they aren't as good the rest of the year as just about any summer tire. If you live in an area where it snows, you're better off finding a separate set of wheels (even steelies) so you can use that set for winter tires, and get summer tires for better performance on your other wheels the rest of the year. (And if you live in an area where it doesn't snow, just get summer tires, which will be better than all-seasons, all the time.)

However, if you MUST get all-season tires for your ITR, get the Kumho Ecsta ASX. Much, much, MUCH better performance than the Ziex, for roughly the same price (the ASX is $64 in 195/55-15, $59 in 205/50-15).

I have them on my CR-V 5 spokes for daily driving. 195/60/15. I don't like them, too much sidewall flex and not enough grip to have fun. Predictable though.

I think Chris Nasparjawacko has some on his Type **** at Expo 6.

I have a set mounted to my stockers. Just used for winter though. They're OK I guess. Don't expect any crazy grip or anything however they are pretty quiet and comfy.

A tire may seem "great" to you... until you change to one that's better, and realize that maybe they weren't as great as they seemed.

To me, a tire is "great" if, within its category (summer, all-season, winter), you can't buy a lot better performance for roughly the same money or less. By that criterion, the Ziex ZE-512 is absolutely not great. Not even close. It's just a cheap, crappy tire. And you can do a lot better for the money.

Hmmm, guess the general consensus is Ziex512 isnt all that great here. But on my civic forums, its regarded as a solid, dependable all season tire. Ive been using it on my civic for the last 5 years with no trouble. Then again, I dont take it auto-x or track.

They are a great street tire and nice and quiet.
I like them, but wouldn't use them for auto-x.

They've got great grip for what they cost.
I put them on my 93 Teg too because I like them so much.

If you MUST get an all-season tire, get the Kumho Ecsta ASX. Cheaper than the NeoGen, and better, too.

I've had both the 512s and the ASX's--I'd take the ASX's hands down. 512's had a super soft sidewall, which just takes away the feel of the road.

LOL... SO he can have up to 36hrs. of readiness. Remember, to seek medical attention if you are at full salute for more than 4hrs.

I've had 512's on an EP3 and couldn't bear to wear them out. They just got too noisy as they wore. They'd pull some G's in the dry, but it still wasn't enough.

I currently have ASX's on my Accord 6-6 Coupe, and they are head and shoulders above the 512's.

I think it's likely that people here will have different standards, and with people like nsxtasy around it's likely people here will have a lot more experience.

I agree. I've had them on my crapper now for almost two years since i got the car (the lude, so some of you can disregard my post starting... now), and have been really displeased.

they are not good at anything. they are not awful in anything either - definitely just an 'ok' all-season. not dangerous - but as others have stated there are much better tires at the same price point.

i would NOT recommend these to anyone.

Really wow I didnt think tires could get much worse than the ASX, well at least in cornering. I'd have to say for the same reason I bolded here. The ASX was great in straights in both rain and dry weather however the super soft sidewall ruined the tire for me. The Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's (I never had faulken Ziex 512's) blew away the ASX's in cornering IMO. I know the Ecsta's are summer tires.

They are a great all purpose street tire---to me..

I should clarify that I run drag radials at the strip..

I have these on my ITR for now because I got them for a really good price. For now, because a brand new house is expensive with 2 other cars.

Overall impression, fine for normal driving, and even OK in snow. Deep snow in fact. And yes, I have winters, Dunlop Graspic, and Toyo Garrit HT. But I've heard they are only good for the first season in snow.

For spirited driving? Alot of tread squirm, and the rear end feels unstable. Probably due to tread pattern and depth, and floppy sidewall.

Some think it's because of the oily film of new tires, but it hasn't got better for me.
