Anyone have good #s with a certain setup. It is going to be a daily driver also. How much should i expect for tuning also? thanks . oh and also i going to be having it tuned at whipfactory. or if anyone has any experiences with the whipfactory in chicago

With that much you should be able to do a full rebuild with Type R pistons, all new pumps/belts, cams and head work.

You can get an awesome turbo kit for that price and still be perfectly reliable.

i'm not a big fan and for $3500 you're not going to see a huge gain in power, but i guess that's your choice

3500USD can get you a fabulous turbo kit and tuning using chrome will have you boosting reliably. i would run 8-9 psi and bam 200+ whp and with only adding more fuel and tuning you can turn up the boost for more hp instead of having to save up another 3500 to gain another 30hp with an N/A setup. serioulsy stay away from spending money on an NA setup unless you are willing to spend 10gs or more and even then you'll proly only get to 300 give or take. daily driving an NA car is prolly harder on the motor seeing as you cant just have a hi-low boost option. if you have a 300whp NA car its just as hard on the gas and internals as a 300 hp turbo setup. just being able to turn it down a notch is the great thing about boost

How much knowledge do you have of turbo kits ? Do you know everything required ? With 3500 Id probably just pick up a peak boost kit if i were you .

Dunno. I tried to do N/a just not worth its bang for your buck so i went turbo. u could get a lower cost turbo setup for 3500 or less. Run low boost on the stock block and u should be fine. Have alot more horse with spending it on turboing then spending that on N\A

do you not get it? he said he wants a daily driver you cant drive a turbo gsr spinning at 4000 rpm when hes at 1/4 throttle. i had skunk2 stage 2 cams w/ valvetrain and tune on my old gsr and it idled very good there not toda vtec killer cams here to blow valves out of place.
