Do you know those decretive candle cases with shapes cut in it so light make shapes on the walls? A kid at school had a Halloween one as a muffler, never got pulled over...But im also in florida where the cops arent dicks about cars.

Yeah I had an Apexi N1 on mine. I took it from my g/f b/c she was getting a stock one b/c she was getting too much cop attention. I put it on my car and then I got too much cop attention. Lots of "fix-it" tickets.

i got pulled over for "amplified" exhaust and yellow headlights but only got a warning granted im in PA and yeah my yellow headlights were illegal but for a year and a half i had them i never got **** for them...but long story shot im an inspection mechanic so i know my exhaust was perfectly legal and i was prepared to challenge the ticket with word for word defense right out of the book so he had nothing...i would just get an apexi world sport, quiet and looks stock

If you want to keep the cops off your back i would suggest a muffler that looks stock ie. ES Tuning Muffler and use a resonator. I haven't had any problems what so ever with my exhaust yet.

You must have not understood what the OP asked. He asked if people in Ca with exhaust on their cars get cops attention/pulled over. So I replied with what kind of an exhaust I have and my experience with cops as well as stating that it was shiny(shiny objects attract attention) like everyone else's reply. Have a nice day.

i used to run an HKS hi-power....got pulled over once a month for about a year.
only got 2 tickets though most were warnings. eventually switched to a dynomax muffler with 2.5" piping(pretty quite with one resonator and no cat). NO police attention whatsoever for about 3 months.

I had a Dynomax exhaust on my 95 dx. Only got pulled over a few times when I first got the car. Now I have a custom exhaust on it with a 3inch tip but a really good resonator, no attention so far. If your worried about loudness I would say to get either a Thermal or the Tanabe Concept G, they're both supposed to be pretty quiet

The EVO isn't that bad because the muffler part gets tucked in more, unlike other exhaust like the N1. And its actually not that loud either.

I've never been pulled over for any exhaust....ever.

Actually, I quieted my own down with a silencer because it was too loud for my liking

i was thinking about leaving the stock muffler in place and run a turndown with 2 or 3 resonators. anyone ever do this? probably loud when you punch it but just cruising i think it would be quiet...
