no ****!
i've already done a search and no one gives the 0-60 or 1/4 mile times for the baseline RSX and all the comparisons are gsr vs. RSX type S
now can anyone tell us the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for the baseline RSX?

Not sure of exact #'s but I'm sure the BASE RSX will take the GSR off the line,.but GSR will come back and stomp!Base RSX is very quick from the start I here(i'd say a 16.5 @ about 83mph 1/4 time) thats a guess though,..thats why everyone likes em,.The TYPE-S dosen't really need a six speed,..the base will jump a type-s kind too,.but no top end power. If there was only a way to mount a 5 speed to a Type-S,..it would KILL!!!!!!That will be my next Topic!
Id get a GSR over base RSX but the base will be another LS,...strong FI motor!!!
and it is quicker then LS,.so,..price is all that matters now
0-60,.id' say,.........7.3 sec's,...another guestimate

If your brother wants a drivers car then get the gsr. It's much more mod friendly as well (atleast as of right now).
Ofcourse if your brother is looking for a more refined ride and a warranty then get the RSX. It will be cheaper insurance as well.

Well if your considering on getting a base rsx you might like it. The base has good tourqe off the line and then dies out. The type S has good power, and top end is amazing. I have seen the local base rsx's run at the track and the best time I saw was 16.4-16.7, I guess thats ok, but I like my type S better. The difference between the base and the type S is only like 3ooo.oo lets see what you get for the extra 3k's
40 more hp
a 6th gear
better brakes
::homer voice::: " leather...aaaahhhhh..." lol
and that shinny little " type S" badge..lol jk,
but really I think its worth spending the extra 3k for 40 more hp.
As for the gsr, its an ok car and their is alot of aftermarket out for it, but the
type S is starting to kick its ***. Their are a few gsr that are quick, after quite a few mods and I give them thier props, but if you want something new which has mad potential then get the type S. The aftermarket for the rsx is coming out slowly, but give it time. The base is good for a daily driver, and maybe the comp. ratio will be good for nos or a turbo, hhmmm. I wonder. Im going to want to see that. But in the end it all depends on what you want bro. The gsr would be cheaper and with the extra money you have left over maybe you can start modding, or you can spend a little more and get something new that has a good hp. well good luck

The type S also has a superior head design, Vtec on both cams and stronger rods than the base. It will be more repsonsive to mods in general. ShadowRSX killed a typeS outta the hole, but it got 'em in 5th and 6th ([Homer] 6th...[/homer]). I assure you his RSX was no 16 second car when it was STOCK.
A gsr, considering the market right now, if you are a tuner, would be the better buy as there are far more aftermarket parts available and 70% of the parts are cheeper than comprable parts for the RSX. The B series motor has been engineered to all holy hell, so it's a strong motor to start with and very easy to get info from others. All in all, right now, the RSX stock will get more looks, but that'll fad as we all know. But lets pit the base vs the S... for only 3K more, the S is not a better value. Leather ? A real drivers car won't have it. The base RSX seats are better and hold you more firmly. 6 speeds ? If you can't burn 'em by 5th, go get a turbo. 6th is like a braggin right, but who cares if you're getting taken thru 3rd and maybe 4th ???
Better head design, extra cam of vtec and stronger rods.... ok you got me there... but it's not worth 3K more ! That's only logical. Give me a base RSX and 3 grand and I will make type S's cry... Not to mention R's and gsr's.

I'm in NC too... maybe i'll see u around....I live in chapel hill
thanks for the info guys!
at first i hated the RSX but its really growing on me....I'm even thinking of buying a type S now!
I hate to say it but the integra seems to be becoming out-dated
as for my bro....$$ is the issue we just wanted to see if he'd be shafted by getting the RSX rather than the Type-S
thanks again guys for the info...more input is welcomed!
