Default reliablity differences of twin turbo and single turbo.

what is the main relaiblity and performance differences between twin turbo setup and a single turbo setup. I don't under stand why peopl say that twin turbo setup aren't efficent on small displacement motors. take the rx-7 twin turbo for example Its only a two cylinder motor (or for people who wants to be smart 2 rotor) and it displaces 1.3l which is far less that b16 and b18. I undrstand on v motors how twins are necesary but why not on inline fours you would be able to get better exhuast flow from a shorter manifold so turbo could spool up much sooner. If any of my thinking is wrong let me know. I undrstand that a single turbo is more cost effecient and it's less of a head ache, but I want to understand why every one continuly put down twin setups from alll the fourms I have read. I would like some feed back and to bring up a good discussion about this.

there are many guys out there that say twin turbo is stupid and that they are unefficent. I disagree a signal turbo can be unefficent to it all on the tuning. People told me not to do a twin turbo setup because its a waste of money and some people say do it.. well I did it and I am in the process of finishing my downpipes. the manifold is mocked up and the turbos are in the car. we will see how it goes..
