Default Ex flanges, V bands or Straps... Any okay

I've always use traditional 3 & 2 bolt flanges in the past with exhausts, but not I'm looking for something that is easy & quick to remove.

Has anybody ever used the old exhaust clamp bands?
Do these bad boys leak tend to leak & can they be re used?

How about V-bands, do they leak? So far the cheapest I've found V band clamps + 2 flanges is about $50 shipped... Does anybody know where I can get it cheaper?

I need some feedback guys!

the type you have pictured work perfectly fine as long as you have good slip fit piping.

I'm using those for my 3" dp to 3" exhaust butt-butt non slip fit and it hasnt leaked at all. The pipes must fit perfect though.

The picture on the left shows a pipe has a but joint sealed by the clamp where as the picture on the right shows a band clamp that would be used with a slip fit system.

Im looking to use it as pictured on the left. I can do it like this right?

i think the design works best with slip fit piping, but it should be ok with butt joint pipes as long as the two pipes fit together really well.

i've used the bands before for a temporary fix,and i've never had them not leak.i just don't see them as being intended for permanent use.
look on Ebay for V-band clamps.i've bought several from SSAC.i know they have a horrible reputation, and i wouldn't touch any of their other products, but their V-band flanges have held up for two years on my daily driver, and i've used them on several other cars with no problems.no leaks at all.last time i bought them, around $20-$25 a set i think.

I have a few on my 3" exhaust. They work great for an extremely low price.

Thanks guys, I'm not gonna use the band clamps anymore.

SSAC sells their 3" V band kits for $40 + shipping which isnt better than the $40-$50 price tag thats on ebay.

I'm gonna look into Napa autoparts because I've noticed they sell them in their catalogs
