Well i just bought my '02 Type-s from Colonial Subaru in Danbury CT and i was just wondering if the previous owner was on here.....when i jacked the car up i found a nice little surprise....MUGEN sport suspension!!!! it also camae with a Borla cat-back and AEM CAI and front and rear mugen strut bars....id really like to talk to the previous owner!! ok so heres a little tech.....what does the stock rev limter set at cuz mine doesnt kick in till like 8600 rpm?
Yeah i know the exect car your talking about I was suppose to buy the Mugen SS coilovers but our deal fell throu. If you go on ClubRSX.com and seach "Danbury Ct" you'll find threads started by him, and should be able to contact him on there if he is still a member...
Yes, your ECU should have a Hondata sticker on the cover.
Look under the glovebox, remove the 3 clips and pull the small carpeted cover off. The ECU cover will then be visible.
Try posting in CRSX also to see the extent of modifications and some background history of the car.

In my state (WI) the dealer must provide the name of the previous owner if the vehicle was traded in to them. Third party swaps, auctions, etc, will of course complicate things. Ask the dealer for the information. Can't hurt.
nice pick up. if you want to find out who the previous owner was, your best chances are posting up on crsx with pictures.

Are you basing the reflash on the fact that he can go to 8600?
Mine goes to 9000, and it's a stock ECU...

I went there 3 times just to show people it wasn't just me seiing things lol
Not doing that again, cause I'm pretty sure past 8600rpm theirs no good coming from that. And that's if I had K-Pro, which I don't, I always shift at 78-7900.
