I bought a 1996 black Hatchback with 150,000 miles, its a 5 speed and came with 17" rims intake no name header without a cat and a crappy muffler! All for a smidge over 2 grand! I need to replace both 02 sensors and purchase a cat! My question is what cat should I get? I was thinking about getting an EX coupe aftermarket cat and having that installed, but I'm not sure if thats the way to fix this problem! Also my budget for all this is $250 so if any can refer me to a site that my have what I can afford!? THANKS

 

Instead of spending the money on the secondary o2 sensor I would instead just buy a simulator and leave the old one installed. The 2nd o2 sensor does absolutely nothing, is only there to tell you that your cat is missing or malfuncioning.

 

Yeah I could do that but its not fixing the problem its only masking it! I guess I need to know if an EX cat, even an aftermarket one is needed to <U>correct</U> the problem
