Default Flat Shifting Problem

Racing last night at nightwars drags was good first time experience in this car and at the drags and although i didnt do lightning quick times it was fun learning to drive the car etc.

there were a few problems with myself and a couple of other dc2r with not being able to flatshift 2nd at high rpm (limita) mine is 8760rpm and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows a solution.

my car only hooked up the first run but after that i couldnt and had to shift normally but still quick. maby the gearbox oil had cooled since the half hour drive to the event and wouldnt shift the same?

Ive heard that it could be the soft engine mounts not allowing selection or correct lining up etc with so much movement ra ra ra but yea any ideas? car is running new honda gbox oil and gearbox is in good condition no graunches etc.

many thanks Cam

What is flat shifting? Shifting without letting off the gas?

solution?? stop abusing your car unless you have money for repairs.. you shouldn't be doing that if its your daily driver unless again you want extra repair bills

powershifts will $wn your clutch, possibly some of transmission parts. absolutely not necessary.

The fastest stock R on this board does not shift like you. I'll bet the farm that he gets his car faster down the drag strip then you.
Shift normally. Less problems.
Oh you ask, who?

yea i agree....i have a high 12 second itr and i get better times shifting normally than power shifting....and its always been that way. You can blow your tranny and clutch really fast doing it man, and those guys that probably are telling you its better can't drive as well as they think. Im willing to bet you put a really good driver in their same car and they get a lower ET with normal shifting...

ITR and new model clutch cars should not be shifted like this one miss shift and say goodbye to you tranny. Powershifting was for old muscle cars because they didnt have syncro tranny. I can powershift my dads 68 all day long without a single grid but doing it in a itr is stupid even professional drag racers use the clutch unless they switched to a sequintial(speeling) tranny.

You tell em scott. Will probably just kill you snchro and hubs in the tranny. very expensive in parts. Hope you know how to rebuild tranny's.
