I have 1995 Acura integra gsr with abour 150,000 miles on the tranny. it has the notorious third gear grind. but lately ive noticed that if im going around a turn or bend and try to shift it in third, it will go in the gate but the clutch wont grab it, it just grinds. ive also noticed that when having it in third and going around a turn it starts to grind while its already in the gear. has anyone heard of this happening? could it be the transmission fluid is low? please let me know if you guys got any ideas. thanks!

Your trans fluid is most likely low. Check it by taking off the 17mm fill plug located above the passenger side axle. Stick your finger in there and see if the fluid is lower than the fill plug. If it is, drain and refill. Your fluid may also be too thick/thin or have moisture in it or be old or a combination of all.
Note: your car must be level. jack up and jackstand the rear as well. Use honda/acura MTF. Make sure you can get your 17mm fill plug off before you pull the drain plug, or you may be stuck with an empty trans and have to tilt it over and fill it thru the axle hole. It's a bitch and ive had to do it because my drain plug stripped or i didnt have a wrench or something...i dont remember. You will need 2-2.5 quarts of fluid depending on how long you let it drain. I usually let it drain for a LOOOOOOONG TIME. like an hour or more. I just pull the plug and go do something else.
Edit: your gear teeth may also be worn down from the grinding. You may need to either just hold your trans in gear around turns or get a new trans. But try doing the fluid swap first. You may as well. You can find honda mtf for like $5 if you know someone at honda

i had a 95 del sol the same problem happend to me it finally went out on me on the freeway it totaly sucks. it started from neglecting the problem such as not adding its proper fluid.
i agree with the above post. i would also recommend checking your motor mount bushings, as well as your shifter bushings. as the rubber deteriorates, the alignment of the transmission and shift linkage can get out of whack.
cant guarantee it to be the cause, but never hurts to get polyurethane parts
edit: i spent 5 minutes getting the proper spelling on deteriorate because im a dumbass and someone else posted

alright so i checked my fluid and its perfect. the torque mounts are totally fucked though. So i am going to be replacing them. but ive noticed another thing. when im cruising in third gear and let it slow down to 2500 rpms it starts to grind and pop out. when shifting from 2nd to 3rd i have to make sure that its above 2500 rpms in order to get it in the gear.

Well if you beat the hell out of your tranny and don't take care of it, 150k miles is alot. My gs-r tranny took a crap around 135 or so because I drove it like an idiot and didn't take good care of it. I replaced it with a brand new j4d type-r tranny and now I change the fluid regularly and shift carefully and rev match.
