I have a crx with a ITR swap, I have had no problems with it in about 2 years, but in the last 2 months or so it seems to have alot of smoke and black **** coming out of the exhaust. I know that this seems very simple. I had the car tuned about 10 months ago with neptune. I did a compression test on it today and it looks good, plus im not burning much oil (no more than normal) I have been using the same brand of oil for every change and everything looks good with the engine? If anyone has any ideas why my poor motor is doing this please help.

 

Is the ITR swap motor stock? Or did you do anything else to it? My motor is built and it started to back firing so I'm going to open the head to see if their is anything wrong, I did a leak down test and had my car tunned which saved me some oil burning, but it still did.

Black smoke/black specks on bumper are typical of running too rich.

my a/f gauge always looks good...aside from O2 wideband reading is there anything else I should be concerned about? The car still pulls hard, but it has never done this before!

 

How does the a/f ratio look on the dyno chart?

 

well at the time everything looked very good, Jeff Evans tuned it and did a wonderful job....but i have no idea whats going on with it now?
