what should I look for when looking at a crv??
what should I look for?? are the 4x4 versions known to have problems with the transfercase and such??
we're looking at a 98 4cyl 4x4 and I know that the b20 shouldnt give us any problems, just dont know about the rest of the vehicle, what is known to fail, etc...

97-01 CRV's are pretty trouble free. The 4x4 system doesnt have a transfer case or any low gear for serious offroading. Honda uses a different system that you can find info on on this site or google realtime 4wd.
Check for collision damage and maybe do a carfax. I used to own an 01 and had no problems whatsoever. hth
