Default brake pad materials - 1992 civic

Hey there guys, i had a question about brake pad materials. it's time to change pads again and i wanted to get a set of pads that stop good. My last swap of pads were semi-metallic pads from autozone. i always thought that semi-metallic pads stopped better than ceramic pads, since at that time, the ceramic pads were cheaper than the semi-metallic.

can someone please clear this up for me. im looking to get some new pads to do this weekend. i was thinking about going back to oem honda, but didnt know how much those were and what material it was.

my main concern is faster stopping and life of pads, my black rims dont care about brake dust!

thanks

well, i just read up some and it seems semi-metallic" is not a good choice of pad, and that its carbon metallic that is a good choice. can anyone add to this? thanks

try the marketplace, if your going to change your pads and want good stopping power, go ahead and add on some brembo blanks.

I think combo's for an eg run $50-$75

thanks for the info guys, ive narrowed it down to either the hawk hp or hps as suggested above. and plus, the hawk site says pepboys carries them so it should be easy to buy.

one last thing, is there a big difference of stopping power and brake pad life on those 2? im sort of leaning towards just the HP now. thanks
