Hey I thought there would be no better group of people to ask. I'm thinking of getting an eg. I would like it to be as stock as possible but that's easier said than found sometimes. Anyway what should a non swapped basically stock EG hatch cost me? I don't know if this would matter but I'm in Florida.
it all depends on what condition you want the car to be in. I would say between 2000-5500 depending on how many miles are on it also.

Very good point. I would like the body to be perfect. No wrecks. Clean title. As long as the car's body is good I don't car much about miles, though that would probably mean they were low.
just to let ya know, i found my 94 cx, clean title, 1 owner, never been in an accident with 1 minor ding on the front bumper and only 125k original miles for $3200. rest of the car was mint. you should expect to pay anywhere from $2k (a pile) to $4k (little more than i would pay, all depends on your area, but it would have to be immaculate)
I would get a VX if I could start over. They have the front Si/VX lip, the VX rear diffuser, no rear wiper, less body tar, no PS or AC (basically all the stuff I took off my car), wired for VTEC and you'll have a spare VTEC solenoid, distributer will work with Z6/ZC, and they're pretty cheap because A), they're gutless, and B) the O2 sensors go bad and people find out that it's a $250+ O2 sensor. Who cares about miles? You're going to swap the motor and suspension anyway. You can get a SOHC VTEC for $500 and get the ECU from ebay for $100.

that is actually a good site to base prices off of, private sales base prices off of that and everything.

The car you are describing is actually gonna cost you more if it's in the right hands. Everybody wants a old clean *** car that the wiring hasn't been touched.
When I bought my 92 cx it was because vtec prewired. Stock d15b whatever barely ran overheated on the way home still got 38 miles/gallon. but had gsr brake swap, neuspeed springs/kyb agx 4 ways and type r sways front back and strut bar.
Basically all my first mods out of the way and done right. Pulled the motor within 2 weeks of it sitting in my driveway.
Now B16A Y21 lsd bout to be po mans r with hmt and still have less than 6 g's including upgraded fuel and labtop running crome pro sooooooooooooooooo.
It is up to you. I am for speed not looks.
Plus cx has no gay factory moldings.

yeah, deals like that are when you save some serious cash. the only time i would recommend looking for something in great condition would be if you really needed a daily driver. if you have a car you can drive other than your soon-to-be honda, then get some shell with no motor for like 200-400 and build that thing up.

i got a white one in ct with 49,xxx miles with one owner to nj for 3500 including tow
no wrecks, very good shape, the seats are mint and the wiper arms arent even faded, the b pipe looks new
finding one without rust is damn near impossible, remember that 92-95 are now anywhere from 12-15 years old. Mine has light rust, i mean super light rust in 4 areas
autotrader is your friend..i was originally looking at an eg hatch in florida...teal ( my favorite color)
under 55k miles and mint..i mean super mint condition ..bad thing it was a 92 and that he wanted like 5,500
but i mean it was for sale on auto trader for the longest..so offer like 4000 cash..and if you have it in hand who knows..but thats the trick...you need cash in hand ...cash talks man..good luck and post pics when you get your car

this is all good advise. i got my 95 cx hatch for 3k and it had 102,000 miles everything stock execpt for tint(witch is good tint, not that purple crap). it also has no p/s and no rear wiper plus runs great. anyway like everyone said take your time and look around and you will find the right one. good luck.
Paid 2500 in Ohio for a 93Si with 170,000mi.
Interior was MINT and the exterior had quite a few dings, scratches and whatnot. Minimal fender rust.
I was very pleased to find when we changed the headgasket that they had swapped in a new longblock sometime down the road..........but put a DX trans with it
If i have one piece of advice it's to BE PATIENT and be willing to pay for what you want. Like everyone else said, stock, clean older cars are hard to come by (especially in snowy areas!) So be prepared to look far and wide.
If i could do it again, i'd probly pay up to 4k for a rustless, modless, 85%+ interior/exterior condition EG.
That's just me.
Body work FTL

I got my 92 si for $2200. 145,000mi, bad paint, ding on the door and bad fenders. Clean title, great interior. Replaced the fenders for $40 for both, door for $75. Just needs paint now. (Swap was more than the car....LOL)

I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay more for a virgin car as opposed to a car that has been through God knows what.
Right around $3,000 is a good price for a nice, stock EG hatchback

I paid $2400 for my 95 cx. Had 230,000 miles, but only about 100,000 on the engine (d16a6). Had a couple real small dings, a drop, and an intake.
