looks like you may have overheated the head? I'd agree with dohcpwr, get something reputable like federal-mogul or Honda.

yea i dont know...i didnt overheat it but i am wondering about the color of cylinder 2&3 vavles..what could this mean? cylinder 4(the black one with chuck of valve missing) was buring alot of oil and i think that was the cause of valve failure maybe? does anyone know where i could get a good deal on oem or good quality aftermarket parts? thanks

i agree with everyone else. I would NOT buy used valves , why skimp right now when you have everything torn apart. You can buy a OEM set of Valves for 283.00 . Inlinefour.com has Ferrea valves for 375.00, Stainless steel racing valves for 320, they also have OMNI power valves that use the same material as oem honda for 219. Looks like its a intake valve thats broken , and they also sell ITR intake valves for 130$. If you want the b16 pistons , they sell oem honda JDM b16 SiR2 std bore pistons with rings for 340$. Id look into some of those options , hope that helps

also whats the highest compression ratio you reccomend i go with? ill be running premium of course and am thinking 11:1 at the least, what about 12:1 or 12.5:1? everything i have is stock except SRI, headers and exhaust.

with no tuning, stay stock range. You might be able to swing 11:1.

Definately not 12-12.5:1. I say this because you say you're on a tight budget.

WTF are you talking about? You can buy individual valves if need be.

You could just replace the damaged valve, just make sure it is replaced with an OEM valve.

What you really need to decide is how tight your budget really is. If you can swing buying pistons, extra gaskets, etc, maybe you should really be rebuilding the head vice replacing the one broken valve.

Thats what we did. And got a great price from them.
