Idealing below 1 RPM

Idealing below 1K RPM
My 98 civic usually ideals at abt 1.5K rpm, but after drive a couple miles, it ideals below 1K rpm when I stop.
What could be causing this??? I'll be taking my car to the shop this weekend. I just wanted to know before I take it.

You car is warmed up and at operating temp. If your car is ALWAYS idling at 1500 RPM you have a problem. It should be at 700-1000 when fully warmed up.
