Default took head off, now putting it back on

hello.............Is it neccesary to clean the heads combustion chambers of the usual carbon deposit(cant i simply put the head back on)?? I took the head off to install valve springs and retainers. will loose particals interfere with the piston rings or get burnt/blown out via engine cycle ????????????

Thanks

Did you forget to install new valve stem seals also? I would clean everything while it is off and even check the surface for possible warpage. Resuface the head and have it clean (hot tank?) if u have down time. Hope this helps!

if you take it to the machine shop for resurfacing you'll pay $20-40 and will include a quick hot tank. That's usually what I do.

tru truu. I installed new valve seals aswell. warpage was within spec(no need for resurfacing). Im going to clean it. my thoughts are is it possible to simply put it back on without cleaning the chambers(and expect previous similar running condtions) ; and if not cleaned, will loose particals interfere with the piston rings or get burnt/blown out via engine cycle ????????????reason being i might have to re-assemble this motor sooner than expected(buddies motor).

understand what i mean??
thanks
