Wiring 230V CE Mig - laundry room dryer plug.... its all I got! Need Help
I just picked up a Chicago Electric Dual Mig 151
Got it dirt cheap, couldnt pass it up and its a step up from flux cored for basically nothing. Only problem is I dont have a 220V plug in this house other than my dryer plug. The welder came wit 3 open wires so Im assuming I have to buy and wire my own plug. My dryer has a plug where the left and right prong are vertical, the top prong is an upsidedown L, and the bottom prong is a circle
I need some help on where and if its possible to wire this up to run in there for now as a temp setup. Never done this before
Thanks guys

not sure the details but when i was trying to get power for my Lincoln squarewave Tig, it needed a 60 amp circuit.
i dont think dryers run that high of amps.

My welder is 23 amps I believe, small
Heres what I just did, I found an old dryer, same plug, so I simply cut it off with a lenght of cord. So now Im left a few wiring connections to make
On the plug
WHITE/RED/BLACK/Un-Coloured unwrapped wire (wasnt wrapped in plastic, no colour I guess
On The welder
White/Black/ Green
My first choice, is white to white, black to black and green to red and the loose uncoloured wire from the plug to nothing. But I dont know what Im doing or is something needs to be grounded special at the welder or something
Please inform me guys
THanks

Black(welder) to Black(plug)
White(welder) to Red(plug)
Green(welder) to Bare copper(plug) or White(plug) depends on how your outlet is wired (either should work, if it's wired correctly)
