I have a 94 accord ex with no rear 6x9s and I went to the junkyard and grabed some out of a 96 Lx I think it was. The mounting on the later year is a lot smaller and the speakers basically fall through the holes on the 94. Could someone shed some light on this issue for me?

EX's had upgraded speakers all the way around, the LX/DX had smaller speakers

 

Ok thanks ill just have to go to the wanted ads then since theres no ex's at the junk.

 

I have a 94 accord LX with the bigger holes too and I already bought new 6x9's off amazon and don't really want to send them back! Doesn't anyone make an adapter?

 

my LX's have mounts for 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 I forgot but I switched them out with the plates from a 94 EX. these are the plates to be able to use 6 x 9's.

 

Yep EX Civic and Accords have 6X9's in the back
