Mini-Me help...
hi, i have a 99 civic dx sedan with the d16y7. i recently had a mini-me done to a d16y8. but... i've run into some issues. since i have the stock y7 block with y8 head, vtec, intake manifold, and p2p ecu, i've been getting different codes. after a diagnostics check i'm getting 2 codes, for the non-existant knock sensor and a torque converter circuit malfunction, since it's a stinking automatic. the reason why im keeping the automatic tranny is because i dont have the money to swap it out with an EX auto or do a manual swap, so im keeping this one for now. AND... when i put the p2e computer back in, i get codes for system running too rich and a fuel trim malfunction code. i seriously need some advice on what to do. Should i get the knock sensor installed on the block and out an ex torque converter in the stock tranny? or should i keep the p2e and put the old y7 fuel injectors back in and run vtec manually? any and all help would be great, thanks!
with the p2p i think you're also gonna get a code for o2 sensor since i think it has to run two sensors. I would just run it obd1 p28 with conversion harness if u want to avoid knock sensors and another oxygen sensor, it might also get rid of the torque converter problem * does it have those two stupid solenoids on top of the tranny?*..
just an update, the p2p ecu i had in the car was for a manual tranny and thats what gave me the TCC code, i got an auto p2p ecu and gave it a try and the only code i got was for the knock sensor which im putting in next week. if anyone can give me a clue as to how to wire it up that would be great.
