Default transmission D4 light?

My daughter's first car. 93 Accord SE 4cyl. After just a minute of drive time, the transmission indicator light"D4" flashes and will not stop. We've been told it could mean "some type of tranny problem"? Any more specific info. would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you mean d4? If so then yes thats a tranny problem. Mine started flashing one day, it turned out to be mechanical failure and it was replaced under warranty. I couldn't specify if your is mechanical or not but it should definately be checked out.

Honestly I dunno, mine was major but it was also defective. I know autozone can run some codes for free, don't know if they can run the trans codes though. But do have it diagnosed to find out why it started flashing.
