Default ECU question

I had just purchased a PG7 for my ZC from a local junk yard. The ZC is not in my car yet, but will be as soon as bearings are replaced. Anywho i have a D16Y7 with the stock PM5 manifold (dual point). I had plugged the PG7 up, and the car didnt run. I know it probably wont because its a dual point, but i was just wondering, would it start? Because i dont wanna get ripped off with this ECU, and have it not work. Please any advice is helpful. Thanks!
