91 Prelude project....Help a civic guy out!!!!
Ok I bought my lil bro a 91 prelude SI 4ws (b21a1) for $100 bux for his bday. Yes $100 bux and full interior and motor and tranny still in the car, paint is still shiny red too haha. My friend who sold it to me had some regrind cams in it and well long story short broke one of the #1 cylinder exahust rocker arms, and I think one of the cam gears migt be broken too, haven't really tore into it yet. I'm not discarding the idea of reparing this motor but I can get a b20 (also a 91prelude motor) from the junk for like 400 bux.
Anyways I remeber back when my friend was actually fixing this car up (b4 he got a 00 si) he was gonna get some place racing mounts for the car. I have searched up and down the net for those things but can't find anything. I'm a civic guy and know eg's and ek's bumper to bumper. I need to know if there are any of you prelude guys who know anything about these 3rd gens.
This is not a performance project, just a get my lil bro a good daily driver for school project. Soooooo

Second would I be able to switch the intake manifold from the b21a1 to the carb'ed b20?

ok the b21 intake manifold will fit the b20a5 head just fine according to prelude power.com....any old school plreluder's know where to get some mounts for this thing?....I guess i'm gonna have to go OEM or weld the ones i got....bump for a budget build
alright well i ahev owned 3 ludes you would probbly want to just put a b20a5 USDM engine in there you can pick one up relatively cheap 450-550 ish... or you can go a second route with the JDM b20a yes its a little better.. third of all the intake mani can be interchanged with each other.
i would also suggest not really messing around with the b21a1 they have a horrible piston ring problem just about every 100k you need to re do rings and that just driving normally. as for mounts do to advanced or napa get some cheap pioneers they are like 70 bux for a set and just epoxy the **** out of them thats what i did lol any question you can find me on preludepower.com name is 3gtepsi

well I looked at the timing today and everything looks good...i might just try and replace that rocker arm and see what happens. Might have a bent valve though so who knows.
And I know about the b21 ring problem...I actually think thats why the rocker arm snapped....the motor burned oil....starved the head and SNAP...there goes an arm.

check preludepower.com they had a group buy a while back for H22 mounts made by AZ racing. If u don't have the car too low they are a good option. But the ground clearance is not much if u have anything lower then 2".
