k i bought an ls motor with an auto tranny for $400, it is complete but i need to get an 5 speed ls hydro tranny for it. i was just wondering if i paid to much and also will i need to switch the manifold and will i have to change the clutch or can i just throw the tranny on and it will work fine. i have a p28 ecu and heard that works if not let me know im knew to this so please no dumb comments just need help thanks

p28's are for sohc vtec ecus. They can be chipped for dohc vtec, and thats why theyre so popular.
But they arent used for non-vtec engines, so it wouldnt work for you.

Why would you need to switch the manifold?
And do you have a 5 speed clutch already? what tranny doyou have now?

 

i have an auto right now but i am buying an ls 5 speed tranny today . i heard the motor will run funny if i dont change manifolds due to the vacume lines or something.

 

no do not run the p28 on your ls.

try and trade the auto tranny for a 5 spd one .

 

k i picked up an ls tranny for 300 and traded that auto tranny for a laptop lol the guy had no money what about the clutch though?
