Default My 25XT Civic Build from Scotland

Everyone else seems to be doing a build thread, so thought I might as well post my progress rather than just showing the before and after pictures

A few months ago I bought a late spec 91' JDM EF2 Civic 25XT for around $1400 I guess after converting the currency.

I bought it on the sole point of it having no rust at all!!! No idea when it as imported but it is rare to find an ef with no rust - Here in the UK most EF's arches etc are rotten, so it was quite a find. the fact that it has sir front, rear and all options was a bonus!

I am quite busy at the moment so not much has happened, but still thought it was worth posting up!

This was the factory spec(but the previous owner removed a lot of valuable parts which I have had to replace at much $$$)

Climate Control
Power Steering
Sir Front
Electric Folding mirrors
Circle round fog lights
electric windows
electric sunroof
Rear spoiler with brake light
ef9 rear bumper
sir plastic headlights
sir hood
sir side markers

Pics of the car as I bought it:

And here are pics of the progress so far - mainly just stripped it back - i will be doing a full wire tuck and removing as much weight as possible - CF hood on the way

need to remove the rest of the sound deadening and replace the sunroof with a CF plug. Climate control and power steering removed as I am trying to make it as light as possible!!

List of parts I have purchased for the build although I still need to get alot more

Crx Dash swap with Double Din stereo and Dash mat!!!

Circle/Round ef9 fog lights - UBER RARE and in A1 condition

Fogs in the ef9 bumper

momo wheel, sir clocks, dash mat and double din

Electric folding Mirrors - were stock but were removed from the car by the previos owner - got a good deal though on these though!!

CRX VT doorcards - still looking for crx sir seats -anyone?

And my 15x6.5 35 offset regamasters - perfect for some spoon calipers
Need refurbed though

And just to show they are real

ef9 air box

Would love to hear comments/opinions from across the pond to give me some new ideas

nope, it had a d15b dual carb which was smokey as hell. It will most likely be replaced with a b18c if I find a good deal, but I need to uprate alot of parts on it to be able to take the power as you from the US well know

Dash mats are pretty rare over here, and cost $$, which is pretty silly for some rubber

Afraid I don't know what 25XT stands for, but it is a limited edition model

thanks for the support - good hear from others that I am going the right way about the build!!

Small update guys!

The car is nearly completed stripped to a shell - I just need to remove the fuel tank and fuel lines - will post some pics of the shell after that - should be in the next few days hopefully.

Anyway below are some pics of what I have bought in the last week - trying to use quality parts only so the build is to a high quality - But I don't earn to much so progress will be slower, but the end product should be awesome when finished!!!

CR-X siR passenger seat - in pretty good condition

Desmond regamaster painted - a trial colour - opinions welcome on this!!! I might just paint them white as I have managed to source some stickers after months of searching!!!

Leather armrest - a bit of a contradition in terms since the rear will be staying stripped!!

Some very nice siR side skirts - got a good deal on these

And some nice KYB agx shocks - might not use these but I couldn't turn them down for $45 bucks

Thats it for now - but comments welcome as always - will post some pics of the car very soon - watch this space!!!!!

thanks

Dan

There wasn't any side skirts on the car when I got it

Afraid don't have any more pics of the dashmat - although there is one of it in the dash above - nice and subtle that one wouldn't fit because it only fits rhd cars remember

Small Update!

I have finished stripping the car back to a shell - fuel tank, wiring loom, brakes, interior bits, heaters are now all gone - just needs a good clean up now before I start to shave the engine bay - will be my first attempt so wish me luck

Poly bushes are on the way from you guys in the US - I will have fun fitting those

I wanted to remove the windscreen too see what the A pillars were like, but since its a jdm factory bronze tint I have left it well alone

Anyway here are some pics of how the beast stands:-

Colour is currently flint black, but having looked through the ef pic post, there are some cool colours - got me thinking

Spring is here, so hopefully progress will be a bit quicker in the coming weeks.

comments welcome as always
