Default JE/Edelbrock header on an ITR?

(searched) - How is the Edelbrock b-series header on our cars? Is it better than the stock ITR header?

I have an opportunity to get one for pretty cheap, so I'm wondering if it's a decent header. I have looked on teh Great Header Test posts and searched and can't find any comparisons.

or ?

thanks

i put one on my car, they were super cheap (170$ shipped) came with all gaskets needed and easy to install. I like the ground clearance and better powerband from stock USDM itr headers. I put them on because my OEM was bashed to **** and found a cheap replacement. i cant give you numbers cause i never put it on a dyno.

I'm sure it will flow better than the OEM manifold. What is the collector size? 2 1/4 or 2 1/2?

i have one on my sale, bought it from all the clearence sales from summitracing.com.

from alot of threads in the all motor forum they make nice power after you put a 2.5 collector on them(they come with a 2.0" collector with 1.75 primaries).

i just got my T1R test pipe yesterday some im gonna dyno some before and after results as soon as i get some time to fab up the larger collector.

heres one of the threads i been follwing about the header https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

My car was the ITR that they used to test fit the header. Edelbrock put the header on at their Torrance facilities and noticed it felt a little better than stock plus I passed smog with no problem. I live in Cali so I have to deal with smog issues.

every response i have seen of yours has not helped anyone at all, all you do is bash on people... so why dont you take that attitude to another forum!!!

and for the original poster:
most people have had good luck modifying the collector to a 2.5" and having greatt success for such a cheap header, if you have a usdm oem cast manifold i would switch in a heartbeat, but if you have the jdm 4-1 i wouldnt think it would be worth your time to switch

I have #67312 4-2-1 1 piece on my R. Quality, ground clearance is great and it makes decent power in the mid and high. It doesn't flow as well as a 2.5" collector would but it bolts to the factory cat. Bolt a tp to it and it is really noticable. I think they are on sale everywhere. If you want max power than go 2.5", If you drive street and need to pass emissions go for the Edelbrock.

When I had my JG modded to 2.5 by Prostreetimport, Eugene told me that the modded header usually puts out several whp gain midrange and a few hp up top compared to the jdm 4-1.
