Default Accessing rear shocks from trunk

I need to replace the shock collars because of shock knock. How easily is it to remove the top hat, etc by gaining access through the trunk?

Just go ahead and cut all that sheet metal away from inside your trunk to get to those top hats and let us all know how it goes..

You can unbolt your tophat from inside the trunk, a few bolts and it should come out from the bottom.

I think he was just trying to be a *****...w/e. If anyone knows how to change the collar without removing the strut assembly in the rear, please post.

w/o looking at anything and not messing w/ my shocks for a year this is how I THINK you do it.

First you pull the interior panels. Then unscrew the nut on the very top of the shock. Remove the washer, and you maybe able to remove the collar from there. You may need to remove the rubber bushing to get at the collar.

DO NOT DO THIS WITH THE CAR JACKED UP!

Just leave it on the ground.

Also look it up before you just take my word, but it won't hurt to try it if you are lazy. Just don't try it with the car in the air.
